The Canadian government has announced that it will lift work limits for international students whose jobs provide an “essential service”, in a bid to support the country’s workforce in key areas.
As part of these rules, students will be able to work in excess of 20 hours a week while classes are in session – provided they are working in an essential service or function, such as health care, critical infrastructure, or the supply of food or other critical goods.
