For everyone who is taking the February 5, 2017 ICCRC Full Skills Exam, we are past the 90-Day Cutoff, so these changes will not be on your exam.

For future RCICs who are taking the ICCRC Full Skills Exam after February 5 2017, these changes will be on your exam and all of our material and lessons will be updated to reflect this.

Here are the updates – it’s exciting, so brace yourself:

#1 – Canadian Education Points Changes

If a person obtained a degree/diploma/certificate in Canada, then they will be eligible for the following points, depending on the educational level they obtained.

  • If the person graduated from a Canadian post-secondary program that was 1 to 2 years in length, he/she will obtain an extra 15 CRS Points.
  • If the person graduated from a Canadian post-secondary program that was 3 years in length (or more), he/she will obtain an extra 30 CRS Points.
  • If the person graduated from a Canadian post-secondary program with a Master’s Degree or a PhD, he/she will obtain an extra 30 CRS Points.

Kindly note that Canadian Secondary School graduation, and ESL/FSL studies do not qualify the person for any points in this section.

#2 – Job Offer Points Changes

29 (1) If a foreign national has a qualifying offer of arranged employment, they may be assigned points as follows:

  • (a) 200 points, if the offer is for employment in an occupation contained in Major Group 00 of the National Occupation Classification; or
  • (b) 50 points, if the offer is any other qualifying offer of arranged employment.

The major difference here has to do with LMIAs and the definition of a qualifying job offer where it appears that the points system to be implemented on November 19th will specify that an LMIA is not a mandatory requirement!

We will keep you updated as the details become more clear on November 19th!
